Fowl nightmares

You probably didn't think it was possible to make "The Shining" any scarier, but how about making it a whole lot weirder? This remix/reimagining as something called "The Chickening" that involves fast food, hot sauce, chicken transformation, and other inexplicable things. This new "film" (more like a quasi-trailer) was screened at Sundance this year, so it's gotta be good, right?

Lord of the rings

This so-called contact ring juggling from "Thailand's Got Talent" is a little hypnotic and seemingly physics-defying. And this other guy puts on a pretty decent show, too.

What the Hal?

Inspired by an absurd exchange with Siri posted to Reddit, MW3haha re-edited a little clip from "2001: A Space Odyssey", replacing Hal 9000 with your favorite virtual assistant. Predictable, yet somehow still satisfying.

And check out this Rube Goldberg machine built entirely from HTML form widgets.

Like a bird

Watch this young woman test her will and stamina by eating her body weight in Krispy Kreme donuts. (Well, 50 of the tempting toroids, anyway.)

Paperview

Waiting for the "Game of Thrones" season premiere apparently drove people over the edge, including these folks who recreated the opening credits sequence using nothing but 7,600 sheets of paper. Yup, that's more than 15 reams. (Curbed also has the making-of video so you can see for yourself.)

Plot twist

Everyone likes a book with an explosive finnish. Well it appears that the neo-famous hydraulic press that's been crushing everyday objects (e.g., the Barbie doll) almost met its match in the form of an English-Finnish dictionary. "Kirja räjähti hyvin."

Life on the edge

Check out this clip of Russian daredevil Oleg Cricket testing his hoverboard skills on the edge of a skyscraper in Dubai. I wonder whether knowing he could burst into flames at any moment also added to the thrill.

Warped speed

Everyone sounds drunk or stoned when the reel is played at half-speed. Maybe not that surprising in retrospect, but when you slow down Donald Trump you realize that his speech patterns are perfect for creating this remarkable example. Politics aside, hilarious.

Big bend

Bending over backward has a new meaning (at least in my book) as this contortionist picks up roses in her mouth in the least comfortable possible way. Most impressive feat, and not surprisingly, sets some sort of world record.

Excuse you

A UK man recently achieved his lifelong goal and broke the world record — all 110 decibels-worth — for the world's loudest burp.

Also of questionable class, a self-styled architect's tackiest buildings around the world, none of which has yet been built.
