Rock 'n road

Roadie Hero
You've shredded Guitar Hero I, II, and III, so what's left? Now, from College Humor comes Roadie Hero, the ultimate game for rock's unsung heroes. Simulates all the essential roadie action you'd ever want to experience, in radical 3D graphics.

Letters to rock stars
Pretty much everyone has naughtily downloaded an illegal mp3 or maybe even sneaked into a gig of their favorite band. This web site features confessional letters to their musical heroes, telling all and including $5 for expenses.

Pandora Radio
Also on the music front...If you haven't heard it already, check out Pandora. It's an internet radio station based on the Music Genome Project. By suggesting a song or a band, it will play that song (usually) and then play songs like that one. It makes pretty good picks and you can teach it by voting yes/no on them.

Shoot your favorite candidate?
With "Stupor Tuesday" on the way, you might have interest in an online game called "Presidential Paintball" that lets you assume the identity of a presidential candidate and train your rifle scope on one of your rivals and "eliminate" him. The game is aimed (pun intended) at children, which needless to say has caused a stir. Read the story on The Smoking Gun: Hey kids, shoot your favorite candidate!. Or just play the game...

How To: Fireball-throwing Catapult
Ever more useful is this project. "We wanted to make a catapult that could destroy a car with bowling balls from at least 80 feet away, throw fireballs, and be controlled through a computer vision system so it could be aimed from a laptop. Result? Success." 'Nuff said.

"Mommy, Why is There a Server in the House?"
And lastly, this is geeky as hell, but good to see the Microsoft marketing folks having some fun.
